Mojang heading to court with Bethesda
Today, Markus Persson revealed via twitter that the Scrolls case with Bethesda will be going to court.
Persson’s tweet stated “The Scrolls case is going to court” and website Gamasutra confirmed this after Daniel Kaplan, Mojang business developer told the site (Gamasutra) “Yeah, we got a notice for the Swedish court”.
The case is considered to be radicalise as the case is based on Mojang using the “The Elder Scrolls” trademark because Mojang’s next game will be called “Scrolls” and Bethesda lawyers felt it would cause confusing amongst gamers with “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” which is due out this November.
Daniel Kaplan told that Gamasutra that if they lose they will be forced to change the name of the upcoming game.
