Norway removes some games following attack

After the attacks in Norway which left 77 people dead and the mention of Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare and World of Warcraft in the 1,500 page manifesto written by the attacker Anders Behring Breivik, Norwegian retailers Coop and Platekompaniet have stopped selling several video games and toys
Some of the games removed according to Gamers Globe are Homefront, Sniper Ghost Warrior, Counter-Strike Source, all games from the Call of Duty series and World of Warcraft.
The retail Director Geir Inge Stokke of Coop said.
“The decision to remove the games was made around the time we realized the scope of the attack,”
“Others are better suited than us, to point to the negative effects of games like these,” he continued. “At the moment it’s appropriate for us to take them down. I wouldn’t be surprised if others do the same. We have to think very carefully about when to bring these goods back. The economy involved is of no importance.”
Personally I feel games should not be put on the blame list for the mans attack, but this is a common theme for video games. If a violent crime occurs people will try and put the blame on video game even though studies show no correlation between violent video games and violent behavior.
