Namco Bandai goes up against CD Projekt Red over The Witcher 2
So it was revealed via Polish site CD Action and later expanded by Giant Bomb that Namco Bandai have filed a lawsuit against CD Projekt Red.
The lawsuit come because CD Projekt RED removed DRM from the Witcher 2 which broke the companies contract with Namco Bandai who distribute the PC version of the game in Europe.
Namco Bandai also said they were surprised to see THQ publish the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 in Europe because as I mentioned Namco Bandai published the PC version in Europe.
Optimus SA (CD Projekt RED’s parent company) said in a statement
“Namco’s claims are unfounded”
With this lawsuit starting Namco Bandai are holding its payments of 1,225,000 Euro fee to CD Projekt Red.
