Blizzard launch unlimited World of Warcraft free trial
Blizzard have done away with their 14 day trial period and have decided to launch an unlimited free trial period known as the Free Starter Edition.
The new trial allows you to play up to a max level of 20 and you will also be able to play as Burning Crusade Expansion characters Draenei and Blood Elves too. The free starter edition still has the same rules as the previous version of the free trials.
Also in other World of Warcraft news, Blizzard have merged the original World of Warcraft and the first expansion Burning Crusade into one on their Blizzard store for $19.99. Also if you own and play World of Warcraft and haven’t upgraded to the first expansion than good news Burning crusade is now free for all existing World of Warcraft players who don’t have that particular expansion.
People may say this could be Blizzard beginning to follow other mmos that took up a hybrid payment model, but I doubt this to be the case. Blizzard likely wants to keep new players for playing as long as possible even though it is only to level 20. World of Warcraft will likely continue to be the pay to play game people love or hate.
For those who wish to sign up for the free trial click here for European version and here for the American version.
