A bit of history behind this game (Duke Nukem Forever) will show that the game was in development hell for over 10 years when 3D realms were working on it, but in late 2009 3D realms died and seemed to have taken Duke Nukem Forever with them. But during 2009 a deal was in the works with Gearbox software to try and save Duke and at PAX 2010 Gearbox Software and Take 2 announced they would be finishing of Duke Nukem Forever and to show they were serious they allowed attendees to play a Duke Nukem Forever demo.

Now just to present day and Take 2 announced the release date for Duke Nukem Forever:

  • May 3rd (North America)
  • May 6th (International)

Also Gearbox Software released the trailer that was only shown behind closed doors at PAX 2010 to the public today with all the nudity censored.

All I can say is hail to the king!
