Today Dark Comet Games released a new website for their game Stargate Resistance. The new website is a huge improvement over the previous website which felt poorly designed, rushed and not pleasing to watch with stuff all over the place. But on with the article.

Home page

The new home page is a lot sleeker then the previous one.  The home page now only has the latest SGR trailer, latest news and a sleeker list of where to buy SGR.

The old home page in comparison felt crazy. There was the news and the latest SGR trailer, but the left and right sides were a mess. Where to buy SGR wasn’t in order, had advertisement for Stargate universe and Stargate Worlds to name but a few things.

“About SGR” page

The dev team page is pretty much like how it was in the old website just cleaned up a bit and made more presentable.

The FAQ is the same as it was in the old website.

The news archive well is just a news archive.  Old news is easier to find in my opinion compared to the old website

The Stargate Command Faction page is well just brilliant just like the System Lord Faction page. The 3 classes are on top of the main text and when clicked on you see a picture of what the character looks like plus the weapons he can use (The concept art team really out did themselves). Also there is a short write up about each class followed by 5 diary entries (yes the Leonops diary entries have being added, I guess they were saving them for the new site).

The System Lord Faction page is pretty much the same as the Stargate Command Faction page, so not much to say on it.

The last page is the planets page which is split up again into Earth, Amarna, Piramess and Leonops (basically all the playable worlds ingame). Now by far the best part is the header image which once again shows that Dark Comet Games have a good concept art team. The image lists info like the atmosphere all of which are nitrogen and oxygen, how many moons etc. It also has a detected pages like “Stargate-Detected” I’m sure in the future we will see stuff that won’t be detected like “Life Forms- not detected”. Moving on it shows the gate address with earth being the point of origin in all of them (no surprise there). Then it has the history of the planet and what the mission is on the planet.

Over all the page is not so different to the old websites look, but like the rest of the new stargate resistance website it is more cleaned up.

Well everything about this page is self explanatory, but I will go on anyway.

The forums page just links to the official Stargate Resistance Forums.

The Facebook page just links to the official Stargate Resistance Facebook page.

The Twitter page just links to the official Stargate Resistance Twitter page.

While the Fan Site page has a list of all the Stargate Resistance fan sites. There are a total of 7 fan sites listed which are:

“support” page

The “Download Game” page lists how to download the game (which is good because a lot of people ask how to download the game in the official forums).

The “Knowledge Base” page links directly to the knowledge base website that is up to provide support to players.

The “My Firesky Account” page links directly to the Firesky account log in so you can view your account details etc.

Lastly the “Patch Notes” page contains all the patches for Stargate Resistance and what was changed/added in the patch. At the moment the patch notes page is not up to date but I suspect it will be updated soon.

“Store” page.

The page doesn’t list anything in particular and just has what you can buy that is Stargate Resistance related i.e. the game and the Advanced Combat Packs.

In close: Before ended this article I would like to say that my overall experience of the site on a scale of 1-10 was a 8 out of 10. With the previous site getting 6 out of 10 because it felt crazy.
