CME staff tags removed and CME site blank

On April 2, 2010 by Ash Meehan

I was wondering did anyone else notice that under the staff names it only says “Firesky Staff” with the Firesky logo. I’m pretty sure before move it has “CME staff” and “Firesky staff” also just before the closer of the forums for the move the CME staff tag had what would seem to show a missing image button which showed it was deleted from the forums.

Also onto the CME website which is: http://www.cheyenneme.com appears to have all nothing on it anymore and is now just a blank site.

But what has confused me about this situation is the fact the Firesky website still claims it is a subsidiary of CME. If that wasn’t there I would have probably said that CME is completely dead, but the fact the Firesky site still says it is a subsidiary of CME throws a spanner into the works.

Is this a oversight and to be removed at a later date or is it something else (directed at CME staff (or is it just Firesky staff now)).

UPDATE: Jim Brown of CME answered the question the SGR forums by saying:

In our moving of all the servers, web servers, etc., I’m sure something got messed up somewhere. Though as to company names, web sites, etc., here’s what I know enough about to say.

Firesky is the publisher of SGR with Firesky being a division of CME. Firesky was always intended to be the publisher for any games developed by a division or partner of CME/CMG, and that continues.

CME’s corporate challenges appear nearly resolved, which is good for all of its shareholders, but, SGR has been independent of that for quite some time, being published by Firesky (boggles my head, too ;-).

UPDATE2: CME’s website is now back to normal http://www.cheyenneme.com.

  • I noticed it. My guess is that Firesky and FSS are trying to stay as far away from the CME name as possible so that their names aren’t tarnished by CME’s failures.
