PC version of Valkyria Chronicles exceed SEGA’s expectations
It seems the release of the PC version of SRPG Valkyria Chronicles, originally released in 2008 for PlayStation 3, seems to have been a success as SEGA has stated the game has already surpassed their expectations.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the fans for their support in the phenomenal success of this launch,” said John Clark, Senior Vice President of Commercial Publishing for SEGA Europe in a press statement, “We’re also delighted at the response from the Steam community which indicates that newcomers to the series are finding it as enchanting and engaging as those who have played it before.”
The PC version Valkyria Chronicles was only released via Steam on Tuesday, November 11th, but as of the time of writing this article the game currently sits in the #2 spot of the Steam Top Sellers list.
Hopefully this surprise will super SEGA on to bring some previous Japanese only releases to western markets. Personally, I am hoping SEGA will follow through with an old announcement and bring the MMO, Phantasy Star Online 2 to the west.
