Watch Dogs delayed until spring 2014

On October 15, 2013 by Ash Meehan

Bad news for all of you waiting for next month’s open world hacking game Watch Dogs, as Ubisoft, the game’s publisher and developer has announced that the game will be delayed until spring 2014.

The announcement which was made via Ubisoft’s official blog stated the reason was the following: “As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.”

Personally as a person who was rather interested in the game I am disappointed to hear the game is delayed, but I also feel that the delay might work in Ubisoft’s favour because there would be potentially less competition in the spring window.

The delay will not affect the platforms the game will be released on. The game will still be released on the PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The only platform affect people will see is the fact that the game is no longer a PS4 and Xbox One launch titles.
