Gamescom organizers have revealed that this year’s event has surpassed the 2010 event. The show saw record visitors, exhibitors and games etc.

Gerald Böse CEO of Koelnmesse GmbH which organizes Gamescom said.

“In a word: overwhelming!”
“We grew further, attaining level of results over that of last year, both on the exhibitor and on the visitor side.”

Here are the numbers for 2011 in comparison to 2010.

• 275,000 visitors compared to 254,000 last year.
• 557 exhibitors compared to 505 last year.
• Nearly 40 countries were present at the show compared to 33 last year.
• 300 games were present at the show compared to 200 last year.

In all it is looking like Gamescom is getting better and better and it can only a good thing for European gamers and gamers worldwide.
