Today, Ubisoft and Nintendo have announced Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, a turn-based adventure game for the Nintendo Switch.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will see Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Yoshi team up with the chaotic Rabbids. The unlikely team-up occurs after the Rabbids are transported to the Mushroom Kingdom by their washing time machine, fracturing the once peaceful area and wreaking havoc throughout the world.

What makes Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle look interesting is its turn-based combat system that is reminiscent of the XCOM and Disgaea franchises. When you enter combat, your goal is to get your characters into a position where you can easily defend or get into a flanking/ attack range of your enemy. Now, what is a game without weapons, well according an Ubisoft press release, the game will feature more than 250 weapons with unique statistics and specificities.

Ubisoft has also released a developer diary for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will be available August 29th, for Nintendo Switch.
