Top 5 Games released so far in 2016

This Top 5 list is based on games that I’ve personally played; this means that the likes of Doom (2016) and Uncharted 4 are not a part of this list.

5) The Witness (Thelka Inc)                                                                              Available On – PS4, PC
Release Date – January 26, 2016                                                                    Played On – PlayStation 4

WitnessPosterThe Witness is a mind-breaking puzzle game set on an open world island. The open world nature of the game means that if you are stuck on one puzzle you can leave it and find another.

While the game is primarily about the puzzles, there is an air of mystery as the calming atmosphere and abandoned structures leave you wondering why the island is abandoned and why there are puzzles everywhere.

4) Megadimension Neptunia VII (Idea Factory International)                       Available on – PS4, PC
Release Date- February 12, 2016                                                              Played on – PlayStation 4

Hyperdimension_Neptunia_Victory_II_coverMegadimension Neptunia VII brings players through three large interconnected stories that feature some of the darkest moments in the franchise to date.

Despite its darkness, Megadimension Neptunia VII retains the franchise’s comedic and four-wall breaking charm. However, the game still contains the franchise’s sexualized humour.

3) Senran Kagura Estival Versus (Marvelous)                                          Available on – PS4, PS Vita
Release Date – March 18, 2016                                                                    Played on – PlayStation 4

Senran Kagura Estival VersusWhile Senran Kagura franchise portrays itself as a series that is just about fan service, clothes ripping and beat-em-up combat. Senran Kagura Estival Versus proves it can go beyond these three features and tell a heartwarming and emotional story.

Senran Kagura Estival Versus is a game that made me tear up on more than one occasion as the game takes the franchise’s main cast of characters to a place between life and death. In this unfamiliar land, characters get to reunite with those they lost and say goodbye one last time.

Overwatch_cover_art_(PC)Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch is a must play for any multiplayer shooter fan. The multiplayer only FPS offers players a choice of twenty-one characters each with their own role, set of weapons and ability.

What helps Overwatch stand out is its reliance on strategy and teamwork as players need to work together to claim victory in the game’s objective based modes.

So far, Overwatch is lining up to be SG Gaming Info’s number one game of 2016.
