Perfect World Entertainment has announced that the free to play MMORPG, Star Trek Online will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Fall 2016.

Star Trek Online for consoles will include over six years worth of content, including two expansions and 11 seasons’ worth of updates. Console players will also have the same level of details as its PC counterpart, so there should be very little difference in terms of content. With that said the PC version of Star Trek Online requires a lot of button configuration since the game has both space and ground combat, so it will be interesting to see how Perfect World Entertainment translate the PC controls to the console.

Finally, in news for both the PC users and upcoming console users, Cryptic Studios has made considerable updates to the game engine to offer upgraded visuals and an enhanced user experience for consoles.

There was no announcement on whether or not Star Trek Online PC users who wish to play the consoles will need to create a new account.
