Bioware reveal early access date for SWTOR and new progression video
On Friday Bioware revealed when the early game access to Star Wars: The Old Republic will be 5 days before release and released the Imperial agent progression video.
Early access will officially begin December 15 for all those who pre-ordered, but the access will be staggered over the five days according to the announcement on the official Star Wars: The Old Republic website. This is been done to aid server stability and a gradual increase in player population through the game.
It seems that EA and Bioware don’t want to take any chance with their servers collapsing as they also have a limited release of the game and with EA’s Battlefield 3 servers struggling when the game launched it seems that both parties may be taking the right course of action even though it doesn’t appeal everyone.
The staggered launch also stems from other mmos who have had poor launches with one of the most high profile been World of Warcraft which had a server crash affected launch with servers going down for long periods of time and lag throughout servers and many other mmos have had this problem too.
Friday also saw the release of the Imperial Agent character progression showing how the class evolves and the differences between the operative and sniper advanced classes which sees the operative rely on stealth and close range combat and the sniper rely on long range attacks and cover.
