Every time i go to a Eurogamer Expo i always find a gem or two. In 2009 i was surprised with Eufloria such an interesting game with a lot to offer (Making its way to PSN shortly!). In 2010 we had Frozen Synapse. You may have picked this one up this year after it exploded and took everyone by surprise.

Now we come to the 2011. Your normally lucky to find one gem and expo. This time i was surprised by 2 games!

Fotonica

This indi game rules…

Ok so maybe i should actually tell you something about it. Its a very simple first person game that takes you on an
adventure across 5 levels. Through these levels you will find your self pakrouring on a single track. Environments
around you will change and the sound track is deep and atmospheric. You also have an option of an endless mode where
you can sprint as much as you like

Now 5 levels seems a bit small right? So there are a couple other things you can actually try. The game offers things
to keep you playing like split screen mode that places you and a friend inside the world competing against each other.
You will also find achievements and a ranking system.

Did i mention its also DRM free?

Fotonica is available now and you choose the price you pay. (If you like the demo then please don’t be mean and pay a single penny.)

AWESOMENAUTS

I’m EXCITED! for this one.

The DOTA craze is pretty high right now with games like LoL launching there new mode. So how about trying a 2D dota?
That’s what AWESOMENAUTS has to offer you on XBLA and PSN and if does a good job at keeping you entertained. The game
is set in 3587 and huge robot armies are locked in endless armies and its your job to choose a hero and change the tide
of battle.

During the match i played as a character called Yuri (Monkey with a jetpack…LOL!). Through out the game you crush your
enemies army with your 4 powers. You gather experience and level up and gain money as well which can be spent on improving your
powers, health etc. Of course there is some fun PvP action to be had against the other team and in this case i was playing
the ai. Which did a pretty good job at crushing me. The maps seem pretty well sized and there a couple of fun traps you can
set off.

This game is one you don’t want to miss.

AWESOMENAUTS is due out later this year on XBLA and PSN.
